Edvin Lindh – world champion, brother and decal enthusiast.

It’s been just over two months since Edvin Lindh claimed the World Championship gold in XCE mountain biking in Sakarya, Turkey. His dominance in the final was not only impressive in terms of performance, but also deeply emotional – Edvin had openly said he would dedicate a victory to his twin brother Vilgot, who tragically passed away in 2022.

Ride for Vilgot

Carefully, almost ceremoniously, Edvin peels off the decal reading “Ride For Vilgot” and places it on the fork. We meet in the workshop at Norra Cykel in Örebro, Sweden, where several of his teammates are based. Edvin is in the middle of assembling his new custom-painted World Champion Orbea Oiz, accompanied by his big brother Axel, when we start the interview.

“This isn’t meant to be about Vilgot—we just want to highlight your achievements of the year, and how glad we are to support you along the season.”

But it’s inescapable. He has dedicated a huge part of his career as an athlete to his brother. And when we ask him to share a core memory from the sport, of course – Vilgot is part of it.

– We were a group of cyclists heading out for a long-distance ride. Easy pace, four hours. When we were about to wrap up, Vilgot decided to add another hour to the ride. I tagged along. But Vilgot suddenly started pushing like crazy, picking up a pace I definitely hadn’t expected – or felt comfortable with. I had to fight just to stay at his back wheel. When I asked, ‘What are you doing? This is supposed to be a distance ride!’ he shouted back, legs pumping and head down: ‘I WANNA GET TIREEEED!’ He was always better than me. Better than all of us, Edvin says.”

And that was the guiding light in Edvin’s journey to this year’s World Championship: to show the world, in Vilgot’s honor, just how good Vilgot was. Because if Edvin could win the World Championships, he could tell the world: Vilgot would have been better. We would have faded in his shadow.

And that’s exactly what happened.

Me – a World Champion?

He won the final in Sakarya with a fair margin. It’s something that still hasn’t fully sunk in.

– When I put on the world champion’s kit, get on the bike, and look down to see the rainbow stripes – it still feels surreal. That’s probably the best word I can use to describe what it feels like to be the best in the world at something: surreal.”

New Opportunities Ahead of 2026

New challenges and opportunities await Edvin in 2026. He can’t quite reveal the details yet, but words like “pro team” and “international” were mentioned out loud. More will be announced toward the end of the year, Edvin hints.

But the year isn’t over yet! A few more races remain before the season wraps up. Just not this week. This week is about breaking in the new bike, and then heading home to Falun to coach the children’s team – something he’s clearly passionate about.

2025 Team Partnerships

Supporting the spirit of the ride

At Slik, we’re driven by the same passion that fuels the global riding community. From dusty trail rides and slippery grass – to podium finishes. That’s why we’re proud to announce our 2025 sponsorships: The Axess Intense Factory Racing Team, the Cube Action Team, and Team Norra – three powerhouse squads who represent the grit, flow, and style of the sport.

Each of these teams embodies what mountain biking is all about: progression, performance, and a love for the trail. Our custom decal kits are designed not only to meet the demands of elite racing. But to reflect each team’s unique identity. Whether it’s on the World Cup circuit or the national cup, our decals are built to ride fast – and look good doing it.

We work closely with the teams and athletes to deliver graphics that inspire confidence and pride. Because when a rider lines up at the start, they should feel dialed in from the frame out.

It’s our way of giving back to the sport that shaped us. We believe in elevating the community, supporting grassroots growth, and celebrating the stories that unfold on two wheels. Supporting these teams is just one chapter in our commitment to the ride and everyone on it.

Follow this years journeys of the Axess Intense Factory Racing team, the Cube Action Team, and Team Norra. And keep an eye out for those custom decals – they’re made by riders, for riders.

Do I apply decals before or after bike protection?

Have you just got your new bike protection kit and are thinking about putting it on top of your decals? Think again!

For us, it’s all about the details. That’s the reason we always recommend applying your bike protection on a clean, sticker-free surface. By doing so, you don’t only get the best result from applying the protection itself, but also the best look of your decals. This is specifically important if you’re planning to apply decals with a special finish, for example a chrome, or a real stealth-finish.

Applying the protection film over your decals will create a so-called ghost effect (also called a halo effect), where air gets trapped around the edges of the decals. If you, for example, decide to keep the original decals on your fork, you shall be aware of the fact that this effect will appear when applying your bike protection.

And, let’s be honest. A set of decals are way cheaper to replace than a set of protection film. So, if you’d like to change your decals in the future, it’ll be a lot easier, and cheaper, if you don’t have to remove your protection film first.

Why you should apply your decals last:

  1. You get the best possible fit for your bike protection, which is designed for your bike  without any decals on.
  2. No ghost/halo effect, where air gets trapped around the outside edges of the decals.
  3. Keep the factory finish on the decals.
  4. You can replace your decals without having to remove your bike protection.

New application tape makes your installation easier.

Recently we’ve been switching our application tape on the majority of our die-cut decals. The previous matte tape has been replaced with gloss transparent, to make it easier for you to install your decals.

We’re constantly working to improve our products and your experience of them. And in this case, we’ve gone the extra mile to improve your installation process. The new transparent tape allows you to fully see where you’re applying your decals, making it easier to perfectly align the decals to any original logos.

The tape is used on all of our die-cut decals, except for some of our premium foils, which still need the matte application tape.

As always, we after-cut the application tape so you won’t need to use scissors to cut out each decal. Simply peel and apply.

Colour Matching Bike Stickers in the Darkness

Every day we are asked by our customers to accurately print decals that match bikes, logos, Pantone or RAL colours. So how do we do this and why is winter a problem?

Today, December 21, is the winter solstice. The shortest day of the year amidst several months of darker days here in the Northern Hemisphere. But it’s not just the lack of daylight riding time that’s the problem for us.

The colours that we print on your bike, fork and shock decals appear differently under different lighting conditions and light sources. This is because what you see as colour is actually the reflection of light from the object you are looking at.

The colour temperature of light is measured in Kelvins. At one end of the scale we have warmer, redder colours (imagine a beautiful sunset) and as we move up the scale towards white, we have colder, bluer colours (like the headlamps on a modern car). The industry standard for matching printed materials is 5000K, which is equivalent to daylight in the morning or late afternoon. This colour temperature is a good middle ground for evaluating colour.

Colour Temperature Scale Kelvin

The problem is that during the winter in Sweden, where our HQ and design team is located, we only have 3-5 hours of useable daylight and this light can also become bluer when snow is on the ground or when the sky is clear. If we match colours in this type of light and then send them to someone living in Utah, the results will be visually different.

So how do we colour match whilst dark?

Like any trade, it’s about having the right tools and knowing how to use them. One important tool to give us consistent lighting conditions is a daylight booth that produces light at a consistent 5000K. We can even put products or bike components in the booth that we are looking to match.

Alongside the light booth, we use RAL and Pantone colour charts and we calibrate computer monitors and large-format printers to match these colours.

As a license holder for many of the most popular bicycle brands, Slik Graphics has unique access to paint samples and colour swatches so we can produce the best possible colour match for an OEM or better quality finish.

After we produce your bike decals, we do a final check of the colours in the light booth before they are shipped to ensure they arrive to you as dialled in as you are expecting.

Reproducing colours is a massive subject and a whole industry in itself, but for the designers here at Slik Graphics, it simply means producing decals that match your bike and look good when you are out on the trails.

We’ll be writing more articles about what goes into making your decals, so please check back soon or follow us on social for regular updates.

Riders Of Tomorrow

We are excited to be supporting a local grassroots bike club in Lekeberg, Sweden near the Slik HQ.
The Lekeberg IF sports committee is a club focused on introducing and supporting young riders through building multi-use trails that all can access. The goal is to get people out on their bikes and enjoying the forest! While the club supports advanced riders, Slik is excited to partner with the club for its strong motivation on bringing kids into the sport of mountain biking. As Slik’s youngest decal makers grow up they will be learning to ride in the community as part of the club.
Slik is supporting the kids with stickers to build the stoke, supporting some up and coming riders as they pursue their mountain bike goals and our time to build trails and skills days!
